My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Ralston. Losing a father in death is very painful. Our heavenly father feels your pain too. He will comfort and strengthen you. 2Corinthians 1:3-4.

I remember when Dad lived in the San Francisco Bay area, I’d go visit him every Summer when I was a
teenager. I had many wonderful memories of trips to the beach, with him and Loretta “Ladybug.” We
enjoyed many picnics on the beach. And nobody could make a German Chocolate cake, like Loretta could.
The visits to the Redwood Forest parks were awesome and quite beautiful. We also visited the Rose
gardens that were filled with every type of fragrant rose imaginable. Strolling through the Rose gardens
was simply divine. One Summer Dad borrowed the neighbors kayak, and we put the kayak into the
San Francisco Bay, & paddled from Tiburon to Sausalito, where the boats & sailboats were docked. It
was a 2-mile trek each way. Dad used to tell me that he & Loretta took many kayak trips across the Bay.
While rowing, I asked Dad if there were any sharks in these waters. He said, “yes.” I said, okay, let’s be
careful, I don’t want to die today. We both laughed. Dad & Loretta loved to go metal detecting and found
many little treasures on their outings from coins, to watches, and rings, which was enough to finance a
memorable trip for both of them to Israel. In Israel they toured the Holy Land, visited the tomb of Jesus
where his body lay until He rose again on the third day. They walked the path of the Via Dolorosa together,
the same path that Jesus was believed to have walked. And now...they are walking the streets of gold
together in the Lord’s kingdom.
Love ya Dad and Ladybug
