Obituary of Nellie V. Owens

Bedford- Nellie V. Owens, 89, of Bedford, died Monday, September 16, 2019 at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington.                                  

Born January 21, 1930 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Opal Rainey and Opal (Freeman) Rainey. She married H. Edward Owens on October 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 25, 1986. Nellie retired from Pleasers. She was a member of the Williams Church of Christ and Williams homemakers club.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice K. Riley of Williams and Donna Warren and husband Steve of Bedford; one son, Ed Owens and wife Vonda of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Bill Riley and wife Ginger, Matt Riley and wife Deanna, Melissa Riley, Nichole Krahenbuhl and husband Shawn, Robbie Warren and wife Mindy, Angela Blann and husband Dan, Tiffany Owens; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Donna Rainey, son-in-law Tom Riley; great-great grandchild Aria.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 20^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Jerry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
