Obituary of Carl W. Parish

Bedford – Carl W. Parish, 72, of Bedford, died at 4:19 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born May 9, 1947 in Mitchell, he was the son of Carl Leslie and Helen Maxine (Streete) Parish. He married Carol Y. Nikirk on October 23, 1982 and she survives. He had worked at Carpenter Body Works and later was the owner of Jeff Shoes from 1992 to 2002. He was a realtor with Williams Carpenter Real Estate. He was a life-long member of the Mitchell Church of Christ.

Surviving with his wife, Carol, of Bedford, are three sisters, Lana Williams and husband, Steve, of Mitchell, Wilma Jean Jones and husband, Phillip, of Bloomington, and Tammy Jo King and husband, Henry, of Corydon; one brother, Michael Lee Parish and wife, Sharon, of Mitchell; four nephews, Dustin Williams and wife, Laura, of Bedford, Lucas Jones and Zachary Jones, both of Bloomington, Kyle Parish, of Mitchell; a niece, Tangela McClelland and husband, Casey, of Bloomington; several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 19^th at the Mitchell Church of Christ with Pastor Allen Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 18^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, August 19^th at the church.
