Sorry to see the passing of Ron. Prayers to the family from the McLeod family. My dad, Russ, was a college roommate. My dad always lit up when he told stories of Ron. I was able to meet him a couple of times and he was the kindest person.

Ronnie and my family go back many years. Indiana Petroleum supplied the Bedford Auto Co. with excellent tires and related services. Ron also taught a Sunday school class at First Methodist Church and coached our church league basketball team during my youth. My wife was also fortunate to have taught with Ron for a short time at Bedford Middle School. There are many great stories I can recall through the years. Ronnie was one great guy.

Heartbroken for Mr. Alesia's wife and boys. He was a fine man. Solid and true in all things he did. I loved and respected him. There are just no words to respond to this. Not really. Godspeed, my gentle friend.

I have an abiding respect and affection for Ron and his entire family. My first acquaintance was at the old Boys Club on Lincoln Ave. I thought how lucky he was to live so close to that august palace. We mutually enjoyed several wonderful years on the faculty of BJHS/BMS. Ron was high on education and educators. My condolences to Sally and the boys and their respective families. Ron was a good man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

I was first a student of Mr. Alesia’s at Bedford Junior High, 1991-1992. Then, I was his colleague there (name had changed to Bedford Middle School) from 2003-2006, when he retired. When I was his student, he always used to tell us he was 486 years old, and he’d relate to us stories about his antics with Christopher Columbus. He was so knowledgeable about Lawrence County, and my favorite lessons in his class were about local history. He would always encourage me by telling me I was a strong student. He was a funny, respectful man who was forever kind and helpful. ❤️
