Obituary of James H. Roach

Orleans – James H. Roach, 87, of Orleans, died Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his residence.

Born January 25, 1932 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William and Sarah Effie (Craig) Roach. He married Imogene Denny on August 7, 1954 and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2015. He retired after thirty years at RCA and was a farmer. He was a member of the Guthrie Creek Primitive Baptist Church for 73 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1950-1953, serving two tours of duty during the Korean War.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Lee Adams and husband, Tony, of Paris Crossing; two sons, Terry Roach and wife, Teresa, of Garden City, MO and James Edward Roach and wife, Pat, of Houston, TX; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Louise Gore. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, Kathy Jean Bailey and Karen Joy Roach; a son, Neal Harold Roach and twelve siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, May 6^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Terry Roach and Mike Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in the Guthrie Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery where military rites will be accorded.
