Obituary of Anthony Starr

Bedford – Tony Starr, 66, of Bedford, died Monday, April 15, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born December 5, 1952 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of James F. Starr, Jr. and Wilma Joan (Ray) Starr. He married Diana K. Phipps on April 6, 1979 and she survives. He was a retired pipe fitter at General Motors in Bedford. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #440 and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #136. He was an avid sports fan.

Survivors include his wife, Diana, of Bedford; a son, Matt Starr, of Bedford; a daughter, Sarah Fitzenrider and husband, Shane, of Orleans; a grandson, Connor; two brothers, Danny Starr and wife, Cindy, of Springville and Steve Starr and wife, Carol, of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James David Starr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 19^th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, April 20^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
