Obituary of Alice E. Kirkman

Lafayette, IN Alice E. (McDowell) Kirkman, 90 a resident at the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette, IN, formerly of LaPorte, IN, died October 22, 2007. Born February 25, 1917 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Thomas and Minnie (McKee) McDowell. She married Jack E. Kirkman on February 7, 1942 and he preceded her in death in May 2005. Alice was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Corya and her husband, Bill of Lafayette, IN, Donna Overmon of Bloomington, IN, Jacqueline Brath and her husband, Walter of LaPorte, IN; one son, Steven Kirkman and his wife, Louise of Lafayette, IN; one brother, Opal McDowell and his wife, Mary of Springville, IN; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 25th at Springville Christian Cemetery in Springville, IN with Jim Buher officiating. No calling hours are scheduled.
