Obituary of Frances Hedge

Bedford Frances Hedge, 81, of 502 17th Street, Bedford, died at 1:00 am on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born October 31, 1922 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Charlie Pierce and Gladys Eagan. She married Hubert Rainey on July 27, 1943 and he preceded her in death. She later married Clyde Hedge on March 9, 1946 and he also preceded her in death. She was the owner and operator of Frances Fantasy and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. Survivors include five sons, Stephen (Pete) Hedge and his wife, Violet of Elizabethtown, KY, Randy Hedge of Oolitic, Robert Hedge and his wife Brenda of Williams, Gary Hedge and his wife Toni of Mitchell and Tony Hedge and his wife Becky of Bedford; one daughter, Rita Kay Brooking and her husband Jeff of French Lick, four brothers, Wayne and Kelsey both of Bedford, Ronnie Pierce of Mitchell and Forrest Pierce of Williams; one sister, Shirley Ellison of Bedford; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, Ernest and Harold Pierce. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Port Williams Cemetery in Lawrence County. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5th and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, May 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
