Obituary of Jean A. Edgar

Bedford – Jean A. Edgar, 103, of Bedford, died at 5:05 am on March 24, 2019 at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born December 4, 1915 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Maude (Crawford) Anthony.  She married Eugene F. Edgar on July 17, 1940. They were married for sixty-nine years and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2009.  Jean was a homemaker and was of the Protestant Faith.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia (Ginny) Short and husband Michael of Bloomington, Dorothy (Dody) Nile and husband Hugh of Calcutta, OH; grandchildren, Andrew (Coby) Short and wife Maureen, Abigail Short Henning and husband Ryan, Amber Nile and husband Brett Hartmann, Alexis Nile, Aaron Nile; great grandchildren, Kerith Short, Brennan Short, Claire Henning, Mars Hartmann, Paige Henning, and Giada Circelli.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two sisters, Dorothy Dyson, and Virginia Halkyard; and two brothers, Harry and Charles Anthony.

A private family memorial will take place at a later date in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
