Obituary of Hubert Alonzo Bough
Hubert Alonzo Bough died peacefully at home on January 31, 2019 in Skyline (Scottsboro), Alabama surrounded by his wife of 41 years, Kaye (Boyles) Bough, and step-daughter Kara Stephan. Hubert was born in Lawrence County, Indiana on October 14, 1934 to Arthur O. and Bertha (Hackler) Bough and graduated from Needmore High School. Hubert was in the US Army Corp of Engineers serving in Korea in 1956, and worked for A&H Trucklines, Advance Trucklines, and retired I 1996 from RoadWay Transportation. Hubert was a member of Teamsters Local #135, 50 year plus member of Masonic Lodge No. 14, and Bedford Commandery No. 42 Knights Templar. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, the Murat Shrine, and before moving to Florida in 1988, was a member of the La-Or-Ma Shrine Club, where he and his family participated in numerous parades in the surrounding communities. Hubert was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the NRA, American Miniature Horse Association and the National Republican Committee.
Hubie, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, married Kaye (Boyles) Meadows on January 7, 1978, who survives him, along with step-daughter, Kara Stephan of Midland, Texas. Hubie is also survived by one brother, John (Darlene) Bough of Bedford, Indiana, four children from his first marriage, Bradford Kent Bough, Rory Trent Bough, Korina Dusard, and Aaron J Bough, one grandson, Hank Dusard, a granddaughter, Josie Bough, and two great-grandchildren, all of Bedford, Indiana. Hubert was preceded in death by both of his parents, and two brothers, Herbert and Donnie.
Cremation was chosen with graveside burial services to be held at the Dixon Chapel/Proctor Cemetery near Fort Ritner, Indiana at 11:00a on Saturday, April 6, 2019 where military rites will be accorded. Arrangements have been coordinated with Scottsboro Funeral Home and Day and Carter Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Hubie’s name to Dixon Chapel/Proctor Cemetery, c/o Ms. Jean Ellen Hansome, 785 N 1050 West, Norman, IN 47264. Following the graveside service, friends and family are invited to gather, remanence about Hubert, and enjoy a meal provided by the family at Pappa’s Restaurant in Bedford.
