Obituary of Nile Young

Bedford- Nile Young, 79, of Bedford, died at 1:35 am on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born February 2, 1939 in Burkesville, KY, he was the son of Ress and Jewell (Roach) Young. He married Barbara Holt on April 29, 1961 and she preceded him in death on August 22, 1997. He had worked in local stone mills for twenty-five years. He and Barbara started Young’s Upholstery in 1971 and he continued the business after her passing. He enjoyed fishing and watching the grandkids and great grandkids grow.

Survivors include a son, Troy Young and wife, Jamie; three grandkids, Landon Young and wife, Calin, Lauren Wade and husband, Josh, and Elizabeth Baker and husband, Luke; four great grandkids, Lailyn, Della, and Geneva Young and Elijah Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Gary Allen Young, and twelve siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 18^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Landon Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.
