Obituary of James W. Stevens

Bedford – James W. Stevens, 76, of Bedford, died at 12:50 am on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at I.U Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born May 8, 1941 in Paoli, he was the son of Walter “Woody” and Ruth (Compton) Stevens. He married Sharon Stultz on August 30, 1963 and she survives. He retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Bedford; a son, Greg Stevens and wife, Heather, of Bedford; grandchildren, Hannah Collins, Dylan Stevens, Jessica Graham, and Reese Hamblin; great grandchildren, Abigail Douglas, Emily Douglas, Chase Collins, Nicholas Graham, Hailey Graham, and Evan Rogers; a brother, Jerry Stevens, of Mitchell; a sister, Debbie George, of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Matthew James Stevens and a brother, Ronnie Stevens.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, December 22^nd at Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery with Jeff Hudelson officiating. Burial will follow.
