I'll always think of her as "Miss Pace" since she was my 8th grade social studies teacher.
And Miss Pace always made learning a challenge, pushed you to excel yet had the gift of making the learning fun in the process. Always remember her with great fondness.

Goodbye, Nancy Pace. Thanks for all you did for the youth of The First Church of God in Bedford. We were not the easiest group to get along with - smart alecks and pranksters abounded - but you always were able to manage us. I learned a lot from you back then. You showed exceptional grace and tolerance with us. Sometimes, when dealing with teenagers, it is hard to see what impact you might be having with the constant smart remarks, backtalk and argumentativeness. Most of us came out the other side of adulthood pretty well. Speaking for all us, we are eternally grateful for your patience and your love for us. Thank you and say "hey" to everyone up There. My condolences to those you left behind.

A celebratory tribute to the person who defined sacrifice.
I couldn’t figure out how she always knew to buy me a Christmas gift that seemed always be what I wanted or needed. I figured out her scheme, she listened. All year long storing up things I said and buying something that pertained to what I enjoyed. My young years I made it easy, football, basketball, baseball and football again. I borrowed her cassette recorder once, I got a cassette case for Christmas. One time I mentioned grilling a peanut butter sandwich, I got a sandwich maker. That’s when I quit telling her anything...Thanks Nancy, you taught me how to listen.
She also taught me ulterior motives. Drag a child around the country to ballgames and maybe no one will notice you just wanted to see your heartthrob Richie Hebner, St. Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati. Thank goodness, he played in the National league. I could not have asked for better summers than that. And once he retired, I got to see the Pacers play Larry Bird. Even though we sat in the very top seat in Market Square Arena and it took her twenty minutes to climb the stairs and two breaks sitting in someone else’s seat along the way just to get some rest. It was a sacrifice I will never forget.
On one visit to Oklahoma, all she wanted to do was to see the Pioneer Woman’s store. I said I would take her, some thought I was crazy that I wanted to drive a country road for an hour then walk around and stand for hours in the store! My reply was this, I can never explain how many sacrifices Nancy made for me! She treated me like I was her own from the day she got back from college and still now when she came to Oklahoma just to see my son graduate or to Dallas just to hear him sing. My grade school performance where I was dressed up in a porcupine costume to high school track, baseball, and football games. Church attendance drives that she showed up to, to help me win a football helmet. Buying seeds, candy and everything else I would sell just to win a skateboard. House sitting, dog sitting and taking care of me when my parents were gone. First option was always to call Nancy. Treating my wife with love and making her feel a part of this family. So yes, I will drive her around Tulsa to every neighborhood garage sale and wait while she went through every single item in every box. I will take her to a museum with a very energetic Allie and see her patiently look at every picture and then on to the thrift store where I had to call my sister to come and relieve me, so I could buy me a sandwich to regain my strength. Yes, I will watch every episode of Longmire 3 times in a row because she fell asleep and was in love with the star Robert Taylor. Yes, I will keep telling the story how her dog ate my sandwich right out of my hand and another dog would wake me up every hour just to lick my head and then run back and jump in the bed. And another dog bit me for getting too close. She taught me to not adopt every dog in the universe.
So many memories, so many tales and talking about them over and over just to hear her laugh.
All that time listening to my stories, all the money spent on gas and tickets, all the hours at boring concerts, awards banquets and games. All the hours hearing me celebrate beating her at Euchre or any game. All that time she invested in me, she taught me Sacrifice. So, you’re probably asking who her favorite niece or nephew was, the answer is all of us.
From one of her favorites, Nelson
I will always love aunt Nance

I first met Nancy approximately 30 years, through her nephew, Morrell Pace, Jr. I liked her immediately. She was a compassionate, friendly and funny soul. I always think of her and speak of her fondly. She made this Earth a better place for humans and four legged creatures alike. She will be greatly missed.

Aunt Nancy had 18 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces and nephews and I lost count on how many great great nieces and nephews, all of whom she treated and loved as her own. She spent equal time and love on each one of us. Additionally she had her church families, high school students, college students, youth groups college friends and acquaintances that she gave her heart to. Her life resembles the story in the Bible, “...she had a regenerated her art and this was the source of her unselfish life and charitable acts.” (Acts 9:36-43) She was loved by many and will be mourned by all. Going to miss you Aunt Nancy.
