Obituary of John V. Kimbley
Bedford John V. Kimbley, 88, of 1602 18th Street, Bedford, died at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born May 3, 1916 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Henry Trues and Hazel (McKnight) Kimbley. He married Judith Wray on January 29, 1938 and she preceded him in death on September 12, 1988. He married Mildred Long on May 26, 1992 and she survives. He retired as a final inspector from GM Powertrain in Bedford. He was a member of White River Baptist Church, U.A.W. Local #440 and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Bedford; two sons, Larry V. Kimbley and his wife, Janet (Speer) and Michael W. Kimbley and his wife Dee (Yenne) all of Bedford; four grandchildren, James D. Kimbley of Seymour, Deborah D. Hemmelgarn of Scottsburg, John M. Kimbley of the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in North Carolina and Kristopher W. Kimbley of Bedford; five great grandchildren, Lindsay Mullins of Jeffersonville, Jena Hemmelgarn and Victoria Mullins both of Scottsburg and Joseph and Megan Kimbley of Seymour; one brother, Walter Bill Kimbley of Bedford and two sisters, Betty Wilcox and Martha Childers both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Judith and one brother, Jesse Jerold Kimbley. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 19th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Perry East officiating. Burial will follow in White River Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 18th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, June 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
