I share the warm memories expressed by Tom Johnson and Marc Denny. Ray and the rest of the Simmons family served as mentors and excellent examples to the youth of our generation in Lawrence County. The results of their contributions to our lives, successes, and happiness are immeasurable.

I have so many memories of the Simmons family. Bedford Ac baseball, Forty's restaurant Bedford has lost an important and influential person. The brothers will remain a part of Beford's history and I feel fortunate to have witnessed that first hand.

Ray Jr was quite a blessing. He was my cousin's uncle but I always claimed him as mine too. He loved life and was always happy to see an old friend. Family, his country and sports meant a lot to him and he enjoyed sharing it with others. Godspeed Ray, till we meet again.
