Obituary of Linda D. New

Bedford -Linda D. New, 67, of Bedford, died at 8:07 am on Wednesday, April 05, 2017 at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood, IN. Born December 16, 1949, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Edward and Katherine (Crawford) Horner. She married Phillip New on September 3, 1966 and he survives. She was a former Faculty Secretary and Administrative Assistant for Oakland City College in Bedford. Survivors include her husband, Phillip, of Bedford; a daughter, Misty Sheetz, of Bedford; her mother, Katherine; four grandchildren, Chelsee New, Jessica Hackney, Camysha New, and Destiny New; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Marsha Silvers, of Bedford; a brother, Brian Horner, of Paris Crossing, IN. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward; a daughter, Cheryl New; two grandchildren, Tyler Meeks and Hope New; two brothers, Michael and John Horner. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
