I love you Memaw. I miss you so much. I miss Papaw too. I often have dreams you're both still alive, and they feel so real, so right. You both gave me a home when things were bad. You offered me your wisdom, and your wit. I hope mom still has all your recipes tucked away somewhere. I loved your food, and I should've paid more attention when you were making it. It just feels so surreal that you're gone, you went to the hospital, and never came back. Such a regular thing. None of us were prepared at all. You had fought off every misfortune known to man. You should've been studied. A stronger woman does not exist. I'd do anything to see you again, to spend a day just cooking with you, or doing laundry. I'd even smother your feet in Vaseline again! I still have some of your socks, sweaters, and vests. They are my favorites. Mom still has some of your nightgowns and your favorite fuzzy jackets. I've left some unworn, unwashed, just to be able to faintly feel like you're still here. I love you Memaw. I hope to see you again someday, with Grammy, Papaw, and Sammy. I'm just glad you're both there to keep her company now. Please tell Sammy I love her and miss her more than words can say. Rest with the deepest peace.

Sorry to hear about Ruth John. I think all of us Crane kids have a special bond and when we lose one we all suffer some. We most likely won't make it to the service. I am fighting bronchitis and not willing to share it with anyone. Jewell and I will be thinking about and praying for you. We can try and get in touch later.
