Obituary of Mae I. Kern

Bedford Mae I. Kern, 89, of 502 W Street, Bedford, died at 7:20 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born September 23, 1917 in Greene Co., she was the daughter of Charles Newton and Elsie Grace (Byers) Miller. She married Wilbur Kern on March 29, 1939 and he survives. She was a homemaker and a custodian for Bedford North Lawrence Schools. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur of Bedford; two sons, Ronald Kern and his wife, Sharon of Bedford and Roger Kern and his wife, Carol of Florida; five grandchildren, Chris Kern of Loogootee, Cathy Zimmermann and her husband, Bob of Evansville, Troy Kern of Bedford, Tracey Stilley and her husband, Greg of Greenwood, Damon Kern and his wife, Bridget of Bedford; eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dallas Kern; siblings, Sylvan (Doc) Miller, Golda Melvin, James Miller and Louise LouAllen. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Glen Duncan and Terry Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery in Greene County. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information .
