Obituary of Charles E. Pritchett

Bedford – Charles E. Pritchett, 86, of Bedford, died at 3:52 pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 at White River Lodge. Born August 30, 1930 in Bedford, he was the son of Clifford Joe and Mable (Harden) Pritchett. He married Lucille Mitchell on February 26, 1950 and she preceded him in death on May 7, 1990. He then married Carol Hatfield on September 19, 1995 and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2011. He was a contractor and started Pritchett Brothers Construction in 1963 with his brother, Richard. Survivors include a brother, Earl Pritchett and wife, Janice, of Judah; three sisters, Grace McDonald, of Bedford, Louella Meadows, of Judah and Joann McCain and her husband, Bob of Florida; a sister in law, Sylvia Pritchett of Judah and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother, Richard Pritchett and two brother in laws, Robert Meadows and Sam McDonald. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, September 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family encourages that in lieu of flowers and other memorials, contributions be made in memory of Charles’ great nephew, Cole Winnefeld, to the Batcole Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research.
