I just received word that Wallace had passed away two months ago. I am his ex-sister-in-law, formerly his brother's wife. He was a regular correspondent with me via cassette tapes. Through these messages we kept up with family activities. He was a devout Christian so I know he is now at peace in heaven. 2Ja56

Family and Friends, Our deepest condolences on the passing of Uncle Wally. He is back with Aunt Grace again and I know that brings him great joy. Today being Veteran's Day, I can't help but think of the time he spent behind enemy lines while missing in action during WWII. God bless you Uncle Wally. And I will always remember...... My Uncle Wally was a great man! I remember him driving so slow. I was just a kid but he replied when I asked him why he drove so slow: Can you count the fence posts? No I said. Then stop complaining. We will miss seeing Wally driving around in that mint-green Crown Vic (usually with a line of cars behind him), and also miss his wit. He was a true gentleman and genuinely nice guy. Sorry to see him leave.

Wally was a very special man. We attended church with him. He was always quick with a joke, and so intelligent. My favorite memory of him is when my 2 year old son went over to where Wally was sitting and was playing with cars. Wally played and talked with him. It was so sweet to watch. Our condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. Mr. & Mrs. Alan Ratliff Deacon at Heltonville Baptist Church
