Janice and family, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Jeanette. She was such a kind-hearted, loving, Christian woman. When I was younger, she was almost like another grandmother to me. I always looked forward to seeing her and your dad at church. Although I know she is in God's hands, my heart aches for all of you who will miss her dearly. Jeanette was one of the sweetest Christian ladies I have ever known in my entire life. Janice and I were very close growing up in our respective Baptist churches and spent a lot of time in each other's homes. Jeanette and Horace treated me like a part of the family and as I got older they always greeted me with a big hug and kiss. Heaven has certainly gained another beautiful angel.

I met Jeanette and Horace many years ago through Janet (Roach) Smith, being from the north I could see right away they were founded In Christ for life. As I was dating Janet ( I was in the Navy at Crane, IN). I could see the Lord in everything they did and as time went on as I met their Christian friends I could sense this was the place I needed to be! I never met Jeanette that she didn't have a welcome on her face and a plate of cookies around the corner for a hungry sailor. Later Janet and I married and we always stopped by to say hello to Jeanette & Horace and of course get a cookie. My what good friends they always were over the years. This might sound strange to some but when I was in the Navy at Great Lakes 9th Naval District, IL I was approached 3 different times by officers with offers of another Naval position Yes or No. I chose Yes 3 times that led me to Janet and to Crane, In. The Lord's leading are always true and right and He always wants the best for us, were all still in the kitchen and God is cookin on us, praise His Name!
