Obituary of Erwin S. Kern

Bedford Erwin S. Kern, 91, of 1120 M Street, Bedford, died at 5:56 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born January 14, 1912 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Quincy N. and Etta E. (Stultz) Kern. He retired from GM Powertrain in the payroll division. He was a graduated of Bedford High School in the class of 1931 and a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army in the Chaplain division. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. Surviving are Mike and Bonnie Johnson of Bedford who were his caretakers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen W. Kern and a nephew, Brian Kern. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 9th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Jon Lineback officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bedford. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
