I don't know if I can make it tomorrow, but will be thinking and praying for you. I know how hard this day will be for your family. You have so many great memories to recall to soften the day. Dear Brenda, Terri, and family:
Chris and I send our deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. The walk is not easy, but God remembers the grieving.
Carry with you -- always -- the best memories of her life. They will lift you in hard times. Always remember her story: never let her life end up as just a name and dates on a tombstone.
I would love to be with you if it were possible, but know I love you always. (Living on the West Coast sometimes is a real pain.)
Trust in the promises that the best of who your mother is is with God. Know that His promises are true and sure. Think of her being just out of sight, laying the groundwork for your reunion.
As kids, we never thought mom and dad would have to leave us. Now we find ourselves darned near next in line. I believe the best way we can honor our parents is to apply the best of what they tried to teach us and carry forward those lessons to our children.
Let us be grateful for your mother's life. She brought you into this life, and she did the best she knew how to do. In closing this chapter of our lives, let us remember and live the scripture: "Honor thy father and mother that "thy" (quotes added) days may be long upon the land."
