So sorry for your lost. Ivan was a wonderful man and his wife JoAnne was a wonderful woman. I bought the house 807 on walnut street in Oolitic that Ivan and JoAnne had up for sale and they were such wonderful neighbors. After Several years I did move away but always enjoyed running into them and catching up.

My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy. May our loving God continue to bless and strengthen you as you remember that his Word the Bible says at John 5:28, 29 that there is going to be a resurrection. With this hope it is possible for you to see him again. The best friend a bereaved person can have is our Creator, Jehovah God. We are encouraged at 1 Peter 5:7 to pour out our heart to him in prayer because "he cares for you." Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding." (Philippians 4:6, 7) Please allow God to help you heal by means of his consoling Word, the Bible. May all the many wonderful memories that Ivan your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.

I had the extreme pleasure of working side by side with Ivan for many years and considered him one of my dearest friends even though we were far apart after our retirements. I loved my visits with him and JoAnne as I was always welcomed with open arms as well as open hearts. I have searched my files for pictures of Ivan which I took while we both were still running the old Bostamatics in the GM tool room. The last time I had the pleasure of seeing Ivan was during his visit here at my home in Ft. Myers. Yes, I also have a picture taken of him while he visited here. (hope I can find them someday) I could likely tell stories of our conversations or how he would take a nap near every day at lunch time in the program room sitting in a chair with his feet resting on a waste basket. I shall always remember our many visits on Lake Monroe, he on his lake lot and me on my boat in the Four Winds marina. I’m now very happy knowing he and Jo are together again. I still recall his words to me after his precious Jo graduated into Heaven. If possible I would say to Ivan now, “Hey you cotton picker you finally passed your exam now enjoy your graduation”. Me sad? No because I know where he is and who he is with and for that I thank God.

Sorry for your loss of Ivan. We had the pleasure of meeting him this past winter. He enjoyed showing us his cane rigged with the ice claw and we enjoyed his whit more ! What a loss of a sweet soul.

I didn't know Ivan well but we occasionally had lunch together. As two old Navy vets we enjoyed telling ship-related stories. Ivan reminded me of my Mother's father; quiet but very kind. I wish him well as he undertakes his next cruise.

Ivan and JoAnne were two of my dearest friends at First Baptist. I was Ivan's nurse at GM for many years and knew Jo from the Greystone Gift Shop. I helped them pack up to move to Bloomington and they gave me their milk box which I treasure. I know they are rejoicing together with the Lord they served their entire lives. Godspeed dear Ivan.

We are saddened to hear of Ivan's passing. Praying for all of his family. I am sure you all know how very special him (and Joann) were to our entire family. So many good camping memories with him on the Best Camp Spot on Lake Monroe. We will always cherish those times.
