Obituary of Philip D. Robertson

Bedford – Philip D. Robertson, 68, of Bedford, died at 1:11 pm Monday, May 9, 2016 at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Born February 6, 1948, in Bedford, he was the son of John D. and Betty (McGinnis) Robertson. Phil graduated from Bedford High School in 1966, Dartmouth College in 1970, and earned his MBA from Stanford University. He worked as a CFO for several companies which include Arco, Bee Line, and Union Pacific Railroad. In later years he worked as a business consultant and was an entrepreneur and founder of Bravo Youth Sports. Survivors include his sister, Susan Robertson Sargent, of Bedford; three daughters, Hova Woods and husband, Jeff and their two children, Max and Lola, of Bloomington, Sarah Risen-Robertson, of New York, NY and Lindsay Rubin and husband, Brett, of New Orleans, LA. Phil was married twice, first to Susan D. Risen, of Bloomington, IN and the mother of Hova and Sarah, then to Kay LaGrange, of O’Fallon, IL, the mother of Lindsay. They both survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kay Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday, May 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to I.U.
