Obituary of Robert Edward Dailey

Bedford – Robert Edward “Bob” Dailey, 73, of Bedford, passed away at 4:55 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born March 28, 1942 in Pennsboro, WV, he was the son of Edward G. and Opal P. (Leasburg) Dailey. He married Karen L Porter on November 4, 1978 and she survives. He retired as an engineer for General Motors in 2007 after forty-three years of service. Bob enjoyed being involved with Shawswick Middle School football where he had coached for over thirty years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #33. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and doing activities with them. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Bedford; two daughters, Brooks K. Rush and husband, John, of South Carolina, Becky A. Johnson and husband, Chris, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Finley, Fallyn and Foster Johnson; one aunt and two cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Michael Dailey. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Minister John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
