Obituary of James E. Johnson

Bedford – James E. Johnson, Sr., 68, of Bedford, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his residence. Born April 14, 1947 in Bedford, he was the son of Howard J. and Alma (Fines) Johnson. He retired as a truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was of the Christian faith. He was a loving father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. Survivors include his children, James E. Johnson, Jr. of Anderson, Trina Nickerson and husband, Russ, of Springville, Joshua Johnson and wife, Alicia, of Bedford, Brian Johnson and fiancé, Kristin, of Oolitic and Anthony Johnson of Oolitic; grandchildren, Tyler Dees, Cody Nickerson, Sierra Nickerson, Logan Johnson, Lilly Johnson, Jade Stalker and Tatiana Stalker; great grandchild, Alexander Dees; siblings, Kay Milligan of Baltimore, MD, Gilbert Johnson of Mitchell, Debbie Knoll of Greenwood, Brenda Johnson of Greenwood and Judy Nichols of Enid, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dorothy Allen, Dee Fish, Carol Middleton, Patricia Allen, Raymond Johnson, Russell Johnson and Pete Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 2nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Blue Ridge Cemetery where military rites will be accorded.
