To the Bradway Family,
Charlene always radiated Jesus to me whether we were talking parent to teacher when each of you, Kevin and Carla, spent a year in my classroom, or teacher to teacher when we both were working at Burris, or teacher to substitute as both of us began to feel our bodies weaken. In the last few years, we encouraged each other on FB, as usual, Charlene was so much stronger, more positive, and less self-absorbed than me. So much so that as my daughter's family of four moved in with us in mid November, I got wrapped up in my grandbabies moving back and how my own medical condition wasn't keeping up that I didn't notice Charlene's except one tiny hint of a troubling post. I'm ashamed to admit that I was stunned by Carla's post of her mom's passing, but so grateful to know. Charlene had a sweet spirit with the strength of a lion. I pray for your comfort as your journey in life continues. She has left you an indelible example and her footsteps were squarely inside those of the Master. Follow her homeward and you will most assuredly find them both.

Charlene was a great friend and coworker at Burris.She and I shared a love of our dogs who we talked about lots. She was caring and loved the kids she had as students. It was a blessing to have shared her friendship.

I pray that God will be with the family through this sad time. I know that we have the glorious hope of Heaven, but it is still a very hard thing to experience the death of a loved one. I will always remember Charlene as one of the kindest and fun loving friends that I ever had.

Charlene is a truly gentle spirit who I had the privilege of team teaching with for many years. She was my guardian angel at school. She taught others about love, integrity and perseverance. Dear Charlene,
Thanks for all the good memories! The stories you had of your childhood and how you met Grandma Moses -- those are priceless to me. You were a caring teacher when we guided Title I students to be better readers. When you grabbed a pencil to write your lesson plans, I knew we were getting down to business! Remember the Jeopardy board Ray made for our Title I game day? Remember the successful search and rescue we conducted when someone accidentally threw the board into the trash? When you were a fifth grade teacher, those students learned incredible life lessons by how you lived your life. I learned many life lessons from you, too -- how to laugh, forgive and remember the good days.

Charlene was an example of what living a Christ-centered life looks like. She was gentle and kind in all her ways. I never left her presence without a smile, a kind word, a hug, and a reminder that I was loved. She will be missed.
However, Charlene and her legacy of love live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and former students.
Although she will be missed by all who loved her, we can rejoice in knowing that she is well and happy in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
