I didn't really know Florence but knew several of her family members, especially on the Brinegar side. I have never heard anything but words of praise about her and wish I'd known her too. I met Florence thru her daughter Sherry whom I worked with for years and became very close friends. Florence was very kind and humble person which the world needs more of. I know the loss is very deep and will be for some time. My thoughts are with you Sherry and your family. Your mother was one of a kind and it was a privilege to know her. I am so sorry. To all my Childers family friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I can actually say that I've known Florence all of my life as I know a lot of us that grew up at Hilltop can say. She was a very sweet person. I also got to work with her at Bedford National Bank. She will be missed that's for sure.

My condolences to the family.Florence was one of the kindest women I've ever known, and I once had the honor of calling her Mom Childers. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved her family dearly as well. Earth has lost a great woman, but Heaven has gained a true angel. I know she's having a great time reuniting with her husband and loved ones who passed before her. If anyone has an extra cookbook of hers, please let me know. I sure loved her cooking! I loved going to the Hilltop Church on occasion for a great revival too! See you one day in Heaven Florence!

What great memories!! I will never forget her directions on creamy homemade peanut butter fudge. Praise God she was in my life. Love you all, family. Sister Florence is another person we can add to the list of "now we have even more to go to heaven for." I'm thankful we will see her later.
