To the family, I never met Mr. Kern. I just happen to be reading through the obituaries and anytime I see the words WWII VETERAN ...my eyes always gravitate towards the print. When you see the word Normandy they get even larger. I wish I could've met him and shook his hand and thanked him for his service, one veteran to another. I'm sorry for your loss but I congratulate you at this time when you're celebrating this wonderful man, his service to his country and the life that he lived. God bless you all Steve D- Mitchell,IN
