Obituary of Edward F. Jones

Springville Edward F. Jones, 69, of Springville, died at 11:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Westview Nursing Home in Bedford. Born March 5, 1940 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Oscar E. and Helen G. (Flynn) Jones. He married Edith Kay Conner and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2000. He was a metal spinner for Mid-West Metal Spinning in Bedford and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include children, Jeffrey Jones and wife, Carmen, of Bloomington, Brian Jones and wife, Sherry of Bedford, Angela Davis and husband, Douglas of Unionville, Karen Smith and husband, Jeffery of Springville, Cheryl Stancombe and husband, Keven of Bloomington, Kathryn Blackwell and husband, Brent of Oolitic, Timothy Jones and wife, Rebecca of Oolitic; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Thomas Jones and wife, Susie of Springville, Lonnie Jones and wife, Barbara of Bedford, Jimmie Jones and wife, Susie of Bedford, Rickie Jones and wife, Mona of Springville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter, Sonya Kaye Jones; three nephews, Rickie, Steven and Jimmie Jr.; a niece, Michelle Ozechowski. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 22nd at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Bruce Roberts and Bro. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post # 33 American Legion.
