Obituary of Betty L. Kirkman

Lebanon – Betty L. Kirkman, 88, of Lebanon, formerly of Bedford, died at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. Born March 28, 1926 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Hobart and Sally (Harrell) Hawkins. She married Charles B. Kirkman on March 25, 1945 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2005. She had worked as a teller in area banks and had been a member of the Oolitic Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Tim C. Kirkman and Danny B. Kirkman and wife, Vickie all of Florida; two daughters, Susan E. Kirkman of Florida and Sally A Waggoner and husband, Brad, of Lebanon; ten grandchildren, Rochelle, Jody, Jackie, Kyle, Kelly, Jessica, Viola, Amanda, Audra and Anna; sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
