Obituary of Carrie Hammersley

Bedford Carrie Hammersley, 85, of 1372 Peerless Road, Bedford, died at 1:10 am on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bedford. Born May 9, 1923 in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of John and Lilly (George) Combs. She married Millard W. Hammersley on January 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1998. She was a homemaker. Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Harden and her husband, Larry of Bloomington; one sister, Kathleen Underwood of Bloomington; two brothers, John Combs and Summerfield, FL and Thomas Combs of Medora; two grandchildren, Todd New of Indianapolis and Chris New of Greencastle; seven great grandchildren, Max, Emily, April and Christopher New, Emma Jones, Sarah and Carey New. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Carolyn Mann; a brother, Clyde Combs and a grandson, Matthew New. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 13th at Green Hill Cemetery with Jeff Hauersperger officiating. No calling hours are scheduled.
