Obituary of Erma M. Asbury

BedfordErma M. Asbury, 102, of L Street, Bedford, passed away at 5:35 P.M. Friday, February 23rd at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on June 17, 1904 in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Elzworth Bledsoe and Orvilla (Martin) Bledsoe. She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church. She married Herbert J. Asbury on June 28, 1923 and he passed away on June 14, 1964. Surviving are four children: Robert Donald (Don) Asbury and his wife, Violet of New Albany, IN; Jackie M. Asbury of Bedford; Betty Neal and her husband, Donald of Ft. Myers, FL and Jerry L. Asbury and his wife, Mary Ellen of Mitchell; 17 grandchildren; Teresa Summers, Rhonda Asbury, Donald Asbury, William Asbury, Julie Edmonson, Amy Wiseman, Herbert Asbury, Harvey Asbury, James Asbury, Lisa Brazzell, Tracy Neal, Donna Harris, Jeff Neal, Kelly Neal, Paul Neal, Brian Asbury, Beth Kern; 39 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two grandchildren: Laura Asbury and Randy Neal; One brother: Clyde Bledsoe and one sister: Iva Miller. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Lelia Dailey officiating.
