Obituary of Robert J. Haley
Bedford Robert J. Haley, 76, of 606 Peerless Road, Bedford, IN, died at 4:45 am on Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Westview Manor in Bedford.
Born March 27, 1927 in Bedford, he was the son of Vint and Dorothy (Love) Haley. He married Ada M. Beedie on Octobert 19, 1946 and she survives. He retired as the foreman for Star Stone Co. in Bloomington and was a member of the Free Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy and a member of the Oolitic V.F.W. Post #1686, American Legion Gillen Post #33 of Bedford and the Patriot Lodge #750 F & AM of Oolitic.
Surviving with his wife, Ada, are three daughters, Debra A. Parkes and her husband, William of Bedford; Janett S. Haley Stapp and her husband, Timothy of Bloomfield and Barbara J. Sylvester and her husband, Gary of Harrodsburg; one sister, Wilma Mause of Myersville, MD; three grandchildren, Bill Parkes, Valerie Jenkins and Tammy Henderson all of Bedford; five great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Haley. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 18th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday by members of the Patriot Lodge #750 of Oolitic.
