Obituary of Everett Arthur
Springville Everett Arthur, Jr., 77, of Springville, died at 11:30 am on July 24, 2006 at his residence.
Born February 3, 1929, the son of Everett and Chloe (Smith) Arthur.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delight Hayes Arthur, whom he wed on March 20, 1954. Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy Baker and her husband, Gregory; two grandsons, Aaron and Daniel; one sister, Joyce Arthur-Haywood and her husband, Larry; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Arthur; one nephew Jeff Arthur; two nieces, Sandra Imhoff and Lori Phillips; four great-nieces and four great-nephews. He is preceded in death by two infant daughters, his parents, his brother Jerry Arthur, and a brother and sister in infancy. During his last illness, he received special care from health care workers Babette, Teresa, Amy and Seth.
He was employed by Armstrong Farm Company and then was self-employed by Marathon Oil Company and Mullis Petroleum as a fuel distributor. He was a life member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church and a special friend to countless people. His passion in life was going to church, spending time with family, gardening and singing. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bros. Larry Hawkins and Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Springville with Bro. Chester Anderson officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 26th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
