Bro. Steve was a very special person. I'll always remember him walking down the aisle of the church with his extended hand telling me he was Bro Steve Goens pastor of the church. I am from the Plainfield High School of 1969 and was a friend of Steve's on Facebook. I did not know him in school, but I enjoyed his daily posts on Facebook and the pictures of his Grandson. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but comforted to now he is in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hugs

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Steve. He has been my rock helping me fight this battle with cancer. Every day I looked forward to reading his writings "Life for the Living". He gave me hope, knowing I have not won as of yet. He told me the Lord was walking every step with me. I, Joy, will miss him greatly. He was a man of God. I know that he has met up with the Lord and they are having a wonderful conversation.

Pastor Goens was my pastor when I was a child at Morgantown Baptist Church. He also did my grandpa's funeral and baptized my grandma (maw maw) and I. I have fond memories of your family! I am so sorry for your loss. When my husband, Art, was hospitalized in Indianapolis due to cancer, Steve stopped in to see him several times and came to the funeral when Art passed away. I will always appreciate his visits and I know Art did as well.
