Obituary of Lucille K. Johnson

Bedford Lucille K. Johnson, 83, of 2964 Mt. Pleasant Road, Bedford, died at 3:20 pm on Monday, February 13, 2006 at Core Nursing Home in Bedford. Born September 28, 1922 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Carl and Ruth E. (Stultz) Hartman. She married Leonard C. Johnson on February 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1990. Lucille was a graduate of Needmore High School and the Bloomington Hospital School of Nursing. She was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Nursing Corps. She retired as a nurse for Central Foundry, Dunn Memorial Hospital and was formerly the Health Nurse for Lawrence County. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Survivors include two grandchildren who were raised in the Johnson home, Lydia K. Sanders of Springville and Susanna Goss of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Josiah Peters, Amanda and Samantha Sanders; one brother, William Hartman of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter, Linda K. Johnson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17th at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Mark Fish officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
