Obituary of Kent H. Armstrong
Springville Kent H. Armstrong, 56, of 2387 Springville-Judah Road, Springville, died at 1:00 am on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 21, 1950 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Harry T. and Gladys (Germ) Armstrong. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School and Purdue University. He was co-owner and operator of the Armstrong Farm Co. with his mother and sister. Kent was progressive in his thoughts and actions in the management of livestock farming and was instrumental in moving the industry forward as his father did before him. He had served a term on the Lawrence County Council and was a current member of the board for the Springville Feeder Auction. He was an avid reader who was interested in current events and loved dogs and bluegrass music.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys and his sister, Janet Armstrong both of Springville; his uncle and aunt, Don and Rose Armstrong of Springville; aunts, Ethel Hochevar and Thelma Kissick of Colorado; cousins, Joe Armstrong and Alan Armstrong both of Springville, Diane Withrow, John and Randy Hochevar and Cheryl Hoglund all of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry and a cousin, Leslie Hassfurder. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowder Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
