Obituary of William Gerald Flynn

Bedford William Gerald (Bill) Flynn, 62, of Bedford, met his Lord and Savior at 8:15 pm on September 21, 2014 after being involved in an automobile accident. Born November 24, 1951 in Springville, he was the son of Harold and Kathryn (Michael) Flynn. He married Grace Wykoff and she survives. Bill was employed at Rogers Group for thirty-six years and was a member of the Stonegate Faith Center of Bedford and I.U.O.E. Local 841. Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Grace, of Bedford; his daughters, Heidi and Emily Flynn; his sons, Luke (Alicia) Flynn and Michael Flynn; his grandsons, Fletcher and Grady Flynn; his father-in-law, Robert Wykoff, Sr.; his siblings, Don (Betty) Flynn, Carolyn (Dale) Childers, Sheila Flynn, Carl Flynn, Patricia (Flynn) Evans and Mark (Sherlyn) Flynn; his best friends, Bob Evans and Red Anderson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Chad Flynn, his parents, brother, Ernie Flynn, mother-in-law, Kathy Bartley, grandmother, Grace Stonestreet who previously resided in his home; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Sarah Flynn. Friends and well wishers often commented of the good deeds our dad was known for, such as cutting wood for people in need, giving mushrooms to those unable to hunt for them, donating his time, money and heart to countless individuals, families or charitable organizations. Our dad never spoke of his good deeds, he was an humble man. He knew those good deeds were not saving him a place in his Heavenly Home. There was no doubt in our minds that our dad was instantly reunited with His Little Buddy at Heavens gate. Our dad would have wanted his message to be that regardless of how you have lived your life in the past, take the time to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and give Him the rest of your life. Psalms 139. Our dad was a great provider, husband, father and papaw. He worked hard to support our family. Dad passed on to each of us a great work ethic, a solid foundation of love, morals, and good character. Dad gave us a living example of what a man should be. We love and miss you, dad, its not good bye, well see you later.
