Obituary of Hazel E. Fender

Bedford - Hazel E. Fender, 95, of 929 L Street, Bedford died at 3:30 am on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at her residence. Born August 19, 1916 in Bedford, she was the daughter of James A. and Cora M. (Dalton) Hoopingarner. She married Kenneth R. Fender on August 11, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was an Assembly worker at General Motors and a Lifetime member of UAW Local #440. Survivors include; one daughter, Sue Johnson and husband Don of Bedford, one son, Jerry Fender of Bedford, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Robert Lee Fender and John David Fender, two sisters, Flora White and Lucille Hendrickson, three brothers, Clyde, Floyd and Paul Hoopingarner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2011 from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. James Hoopingarner officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 8th at the mortuary.
