Obituary of George C. Enochs
Bedford George C. Enochs, 85, of 185 Trogden Lane, died at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at his residence.
Born July 2, 1920 he was the son of Thomas and Cassie (Todd) Enochs. He married Mildred Cain on July 23, 1941 and she survives. He served as Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army during WWII. Served as Captain of the police force in Connersville and retired from Extruded Alloys in Bedford. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the CCC. He earned two Purple Hearts among numerous other medals.
Surviving with his wife, Mildred is six children, Allen and his wife Linda, of Colorado, George, Jr. of Bloomington, Rosann Norris-Mahuron and her husband Wayne, Rick and his wife Marsha, Greg, Sr. and Randy, all of Bedford, twenty grandchildren and fifty-five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Curtis Edward, one daughter, Sandra Jean Super, one grandson, Robert Daniel Baker, one son-in-law, David Norris, six sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 30th at 10:00 am in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Rodney Reynolds and Bishop Paul Hanson. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 4 8 pm on Tuesday November 29th and from 9:00 am until the hour of the service on Wednesday, November 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
