Obituary of Leona E. Elliott

Bedford Leona E. Elliott, 81, of Bedford, died at 1:30 am on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born February 12, 1928 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Albert and Daisy (Prewitt) Reynolds. She married Jack C. Elliott on January 29, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2008. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Leona was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always smiling. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Sanders and her husband, Stephen, Sandra Bishop and her husband, Tom all of Bedford; one son, Michael Elliott and his wife, Marcella of Bedford; four grandsons, Phillip Sanders and his wife, Lydia, Christopher Sanders, Brad Bishop and Roger Bishop; four great grandchildren, Jon, Amanda and Samantha Sanders, Josiah Peters; one great great grandson, Vincent Disbro; two sisters, Phyllis Webb of Virginia and Wilma Godsey of Bedford; two brothers, Gail Reynolds and Jerry Reynolds both of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, February 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Fred Barger and Pastor Jeff Hudelson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
