Obituary of Gretna Beryl Elkins

Bedford Gretna Beryl Elkins, 91, of 709 Oxford Street, Bedford, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at her residence. Born September 22, 1917, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of George Henry and Myrtle Ellen (Koontz) Luther. She married Charles Howard Elkins and he preceded her in death in 1976. She retired from Central Foundry after thirty years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Local #440. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Dawn Elkins of Bedford; a granddaughter, Amber Elaine George of Bedford; a son-in-law, John David Livingston of Bedford; a sister, Beulah Ices Jaynes of Plainfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sharon Laverne Livingston; a brother, Ansel Luther and a great grandson, Varian Slade George. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, January 23rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
