Obituary of Jack Eugene Ekwall

Bedford Jack Eugene Ekwall, 70, of Bedford, died at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his residence. Born July 3, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of Arthur and Leona (Macaninch) Ekwall. He married Darlene Welter on June 10, 1966 and she survives. He was an electronics engineer at NWSC Crane for thirty-one years. He was an air force veteran stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, HI. Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Bedford; two brothers, Richard Ekwall of Farmington, NM and Jerry Ekwall of Cedar Rapids, IA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dwight Runnells and James Ekwall. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service on Wednesday, March 19th at the Lentz Funeral Home in Livermore, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Ottosen, Iowa.
