Obituary of Joseph Eggers

Bedford Joseph Eggers, 88, of Bedford, died at 8:55 pm on Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Bloomington Hospital. Born September 20, 1917 in Bedford, he was the son of Willie Newton and Lorenia (Reynolds) Eggers. He married Roxie Lillian Tincher on February 27, 1939 and she survives. He retired in 1973 as a supervisor at NWSC CRANE. He was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church, the CCC of Mitchell and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Roxie of Bedford; three daughters, Josephine Eggers Horton and her husband, Charles of Norman, IN, Lela Mae Eggers Hackney and her husband, Carson and Nancy Lorenia Eggers all of Bedford; one son, William Henry Eggers and his wife, Shirley of Bedford; one sister, Ruth Marie Eggers Ross of Bedford; five grandchildren, Dianna L. Hackney Fisher and her husband, Gary, Jeffrey A. Hackney and his wife, Lisa, Jill Ann Rose, W. David Eggers and Teddy Joe Eggers; seven great grandchildren, Lucas and his wife, Lacey, Sarah, Benjamin Fisher, Heather, Holly, Taylor Hackney and Angela Rose; one great great granddaughter, Shelby Rose Pruett; several cousins and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ray W. Eggers and a great grandson, Jason Rose. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Revs. David Ferry and Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
