Obituary of Bessie A. Edwards

Bedford Bessie A. Edwards, 91, of Bedford, died at 1:40 am on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born October 29, 1918 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Noble A. and Florie V. (Mahoney) Hubbard. She worked at the Greystone Hotel as a waitress. She met and married Oscar Wesley on February 11, 1939. They moved to Phoenix, AZ and lived there for thirty years before returning to Bedford. She was an operator for South West Envelope Co. and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Arthur W. (Jennie) Edwards of Bedford, Thomas (Sandy) Edwards of California; a daughter, Vicki (Richard) Baird of Arizona; eight grandchildren; a brother, Carl Hubbard (Irene) of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, Elbert, Noble, Winfred, Paul (Pud) and Jim Hubbard; two sisters, Frances and Helen. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, May 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
