Obituary of George Eagans
Bedford, George Eagans, 70, of 500 Mahan Road in Bedford, died at 5:47 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22nd at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 17, 1934 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Woodrow and Lelah (Swartz) Eagan. He married Edna Pemberton on June 29, 1957 and she died on September 11, 2001.
He was a contractor all of his life in Lawrence County, and was a member of the Mitchell American Legion Post #250 and Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Surviving are one son: Brian Eagans and his wife, Lisa of Bedford; two grandsons: Dillon and Brant Eagans both of Bedford; Companion: Zella Rose of Bedford; two sisters: Viola Cummings and Helen Couch both of Bedford; one brother: Gerald Eagan of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday by members of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.
