Obituary of Phillip Wayne Adams

Bedford- Phillip Wayne Adams, 72, of 1519 First Street, Bedford died at 6:30 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the IU Health Bedford Hospital. Born June 26, 1940 in Lincoln County, KY he was the son of John H. and Lillie M (Pemberton) Adams. He married Hazel L. Guthrie on October 27, 1961 and she survives. He retired from CSX Railroad. He attended Hillcrest Christian Church, was a life member of the United Transportation Union and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Hazel of Bedford; one daughter: Sheila Myers and her husband Randy of Fayeteville; one son: David W. Adams of Bedford; two sisters: Jewell Baker of Oolitic, and Verla J. Winnings of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Julia Hicks and Marcia Hirtz. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Monday, March 4th 2013 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the hour of service on Monday, March 4th 2013 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
