Obituary of Vasel Eads
BloomingtonVasel Eads, 94 of 7433 South Harmony Road in Bloomington passed away at 5:10 P.M. Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Beverly Nursing Home in Bloomington.
Born August 11, 1911 in Monroe County, IN he was the son of George Eads and Stella (Turner) Eads. He was a retired Quarry Worker in Bedford and Bloomington, a member of Chapel Hill Pentecostal Church and a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was a former member of the Heltonville Area Veterans. He married Doris Harper on May 11, 1942 and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife is: two daughters: Shirley Hartman and her husband, Phillip of Springville; Dianna Sue Cooley and her husband, Steven H. of Bloomington; one son: Colbert (Coby) Nathan Eads and his wife, Joyce Ann of Bedford; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, five step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Gilbert, Clifford, Delbert and Ermie Eads; three sisters: Mamie Norman, Goldie Deckard, and Truly Southern and one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 10th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Gregory Eads and Rev. Randy McVey officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Monroe County where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call at Day & Carter on Thursday, February 9th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Friday from noon until the hour of service.
